Old Skool rugby, new opportunities: join us at the Wasps Legends Long Lunch
There's a particular kind of room you only get when rugby people reunite. Old rivalries softened into affection. Stories that have been told so many times the details have started to improve on their own. That's the room we're inviting you into on Thursday 8 October, at The Anthologist, Gresham Street, London EC2V 7BB.
This year, the Matt Ratana Rugby Foundation has been named charity of choice for the Wasps Legends Long Lunch 2026 - and everything raised on the day goes straight into our flagship programme, TackleLondon.
Why this matters to us
TackleLondon puts rugby and long-term mentoring in the hands of young people growing up in some of London's most under-resourced communities. It isn't a one-off session or a quick intervention - it's coaches who turn up, week after week, building the kind of steady relationship that gives a young person somewhere safe to grow: confidence, resilience, life skills, belonging.
That consistency costs money. Every seat booked for this lunch helps us keep it going.
What to expect on the day
The theme is Old Skool - think big personalities, bigger stories, and a room that gets louder as the afternoon goes on. Here's how it unfolds:
Doors open at midday, straight into old skool rugby energy - familiar faces, a drink in hand, and stories already starting before anyone's sat down.
By 12.30, we'll welcome everyone properly and share a first look at the impact your support makes possible.
1pm brings a three-course seasonal lunch with the wine flowing and legends holding court at every table.
Things pick up pace at 3pm for the fundraising and live auction - paddles up, some friendly competition, and every bid going directly toward giving more young Londoners a place in the game.
Official proceedings wrap at 4pm, but nobody's rushing you out the door - the bar stays open for anyone keen to keep the afternoon going.
Alongside the auction, there's a charity raffle running throughout, with some genuinely brilliant prizes up for grabs.
